An article talking about an opportunity home business entrepreneurs often miss was posted today on one of our main sites. Its not a business opportunity in the traditional sense of the word, just an opportunity that is often times not taken advantage of.
Regardless of the business you happen to in you have to be intentional if you plan to make the changes you wish to make or earn the money you want to earn.
Many times a business takes on a mind of its own and your goals are left by the wayside.
As a business owner you have an opportunity to create a life you desire. By implementing systems, working hard, staying organinzed and focused on your goals you can create the life you desire, but it won't happen by chance. The best opportunity home business offers to create a life the way you want it.
Don't buy into the idea that everything is a trade off. Its not.
Sure you only have so much time, so much money, and so much skill but deciding what your going to do with what you've got in light of a clear goal is usually enough to get you there.
The simple fact is most people don't take advantage of the opportunity, the freedom to decide what it will be like.
I think we are trained to look out and pick what we want instead of looking in.
I get a kick out of the excercises like:
If you woke up and had a million bucks in your bank account, what would you do?
If you were to die tommorrow what is the one thing you would regret missing the most?
What would you do if no one was looking?
Really think about what you want. It might be simple. More is not a goal and having a little more than the other guy is golden rule of mediocrity.
Check out the post and don't miss the opportunity home business owners usually do.

Best Businesses to Start- Profitable Business Opportunities 2009
I think its a two fold question that deserves a two fold answer. First lets deal with choosing the best business to start.
I've owned a successful traditional small business for just over 8 years that I started from scratch in my early twenties. Learning most of what I needed to learn along the way. I think owning and running, dealing with the challenges and creating a successful small business is about the best education you can get in business. I've employed several employees who carried a bachelors in business and more that really had their eyes opened when they were able to see in my business what had to happen in order to have success.
I was introduced to the home based business industry around 3 years ago when I started an online business opportunity in the personal development field. The differences in a home based business opportunity that was operated online and a traditional business were staggering, yet there were also many similarities.
I'd say the biggest difference in an online business idea and a regular small business is the potential to reach a larger market.
As with any business starting an online business should be done with some sort of a plan. I'd recommend getting clear on what it is you would like your new business idea to create in your life. What type of time will you have available to commit to building an online business? What type of financial commitment are you comfortable with? Will you be taking on any partners? Will your family participate in the business venture? If you are looking to decide what a good business to start would be you need to know what you looking to accomplish in terms of personal lifestyle impact. Once you have that figured out you'll be a big step closer in choosing the best business.
I'm reminded of a blog post I once read authored by Steve Pavalina, a personal development writer and online business entrepreneur. In the post he advised starting several businesses at once. At first I found that to be a bit odd but it really is good advise. Not every business idea you have is necessarily a successful business idea and investing a bunch of time, money and effort into a business idea that doesn't float is a waste. Steve mentions and I also advise to do something, just get started. Creating momentum is the real and first task of every entrepreneur. The best business plan in the world won't earn one red cent if you don't take action. Looking back I can see where the unguided action I took early on in a business venture was what gave me the feedback I used to make it a profitable business opportunity.
Choosing the Best Business to Start
Most businesses you would consider starting probably have something to do with an industry or skill your are familiar with. You will get lots of business ideas from the pool of what you already know, but are these the best business ideas?
Good advice in picking a winning biz, would be to listen to the market. What does the market want? That's a great question to ask and answer with a profitable business start up that addresses a real need in the marketplace.
Personality plays a big role in deciding what a business to start. Are you outgoing? Do you enjoy working with people? Are you more reserved, a perfectionist maybe? Do you have a hobby like photography that you really enjoy and could turn into a photography business?
From my experience I would also offer that choosing to start a particular business just because it makes the most sense or it is the easiest thing to do is not the best indicator of ideal business to start. Try forgetting about the practical aspect of the business and figure out what would make you feel great. Finish a sentence like this one:
" I am so happy and grateful now that I am doing ________ and am earning __________. "
What would your answers be?
Another idea that Pavalina mentions is working from your core or being on purpose. I think personal awareness and some introspection is extremely valuable in pointing you in the right direction when it comes to making a business start up decision.
Do you have specific question about choosing a good business to start? Scroll down to the comment link and ask!
Now for evaluating a business for profitability.
I think coming up with a list of about 6 businesses you could start would make the next step a lot easier. Discerning which business would be the most profitable business to start can be a little more complex that just coming up with a few business ideas that would work for you.
One of the first things to think about it long term market. Any business you start will require an investment of time and money. Some business opportunities will be profitable faster than others and some will ultimately be more profitable in the long run. If the long term profitability of the idea isn't there, don't do it.
Many times a long term profitable business idea is one that can be "built out". In other words you want a business idea that can evolve. Having a product or service that can innovate easily or expand sideways into other related niches is a good indicator of a profitable business to start.
One of the ways I discern a good business concept is when I get tons of ideas around a central idea. Some business concepts spawn new and creative ways to make money almost from the start, then the challenge becomes to focus on one idea at a time.
So "Expandable" is important when looking for a profitable business.
When I think profitable I think "time spent". What can I earn for the time I spend?
One of the things I like about blogging and building websites is the passive element that comes along with it. I earn a few bucks everyday whether I turn on my computer or not from several different websites across the world wide web and I like that.
One of the business concepts that was important to me was not having to perform a service in order to be paid. I wanted to do the work once and get paid over and over.
Profitable Business Opportunities 2009
Business ideas worth doing in 2009 need to be profitable business in 2010 and beyond. I think a profitable business idea needs to have a timeless element to it. This goes back to being expandable a bit, but more importantly, the point is don't start a business based on a fad.
What are some surprises you've experienced in starting a business?
Do you have an example of a business that you were going to start but didn't and later saw it be a big success?
Is Starting Several Online Businesses Smart?
I look at each of my small business websites as a business in and of itself. An individual entity. I spend the most time on the ones that make the most money and when I can I work to improve the others. Most all of my blogs or websites are interconnected to the same or similar niche, this has made them all more successful. If your trying to blog as a business then I'd recommend starting several websites that are focused enough to be successful individually but broad enough to relate to other topics in peripheral niches.

2009 Business Opportunities - Best Business to Start?
2009 has been an interesting year for business start ups. People are starting to realise that a sluggish or even volatile economy is a great time to time to start the business opportunity they've been thinking about for years.
2009 Business Opportunities
The business opportunities in 2009 seem to be taking a more niche approach to earning money. By serving a specific segment of a specific market people are starting businesses much faster in 2009. Unique is in when it comes to business start ups and service oriented business still are the most popular business to start.
Profitable business opportunities, as I've mentioned here before, need to be connected to an existing market. Its more profitable and less risky to improve service or product to an existing market than to try and create one of your own.
Are Coffee Shops a Good Business Opportunity?
Coffee shops are interesting, I've never owned one but I've had the chance to see so many coffee shop start ups. I've been in a few coffee shops that cause me to think or say, " I'm commin back here".... That's the key, and a good example of connecting to an existing market.
People drink coffee. That's the market. Some people drink coffee out of the home, that could be the niche. Some people drink coffee out of the home and would like to work on their computer while the child is entertained by an educational and independent activity....That could be improving the experience of an already existing niche....These business ideas are profitable and they are working.
The Best Business To Start?
People ask me this often, both on my websites and in person. The short answer is, Its a tough question. I've started a few businesses and I like to stick to my personal experience of starting a business. The best business to start is not the one that is the easiest. The best business to start is not the one that earns the most money. When I look back, and think about things now I'd have to say its about balance and being on purpose.
I've owned businesses that have earn a boat load of money, but I had no life and was miserable. While I learned a lot and developed management skills and systems that gave me a life and reduced stress, I still didn't like what I did. Every day felt like another mountain to climb. I had to deal with people I didn't want to deal with and take risks I wasn't comfortable taking. While money is great, money alone is not the indicator of the best business to start.
I had the idea one day that, " wouldn't it be neat if who I wanted to be on a day to day basis created my life." In other words, I wanted to be on purpose. Its great to feel useful, and on purpose.
I think the best business to start is the one that excites you a bit, causes you to stretch, and serves people in a way your proud of.
Business opportunities are opportunities to make money. Businesses need to earn money, if they don't their hobbies. Just because you love doing something does not mean its going to be a great business opportunity.
There are hundreds of online business opportunities. Profitable business opportunities online are, in my opinion, are a weird animal. Turnkey business opportunities are a great opportunity for the person who has little or no business experience. You'll have the chance to associate with other people who know more about business. Success minded people are great association and in some places tough to find and associate with. Many of the best business opportunities are based online which also allows a much broader customer base and exposure to all different kinds of people.
Business Opportunities Online
Seems most online business opportunities, like the ones you see advertised are either:
Directs Sales Opportunities
Network Marketing
Affiliate Marketing
Commissioned Sales Rep.
Product Reseller
Customer Service
Consulting
Franchise Opportunities
I'm sure there are more categories, these are a few that I've seen. Either way, with any business opportunity, you'll be working with other people, It pays to work with people you feel comfortable with, people who can help you get to the place you need to be.
Business opportunities require start up capital. Depending on the type of business, most business start ups will cost between $50 and $25,000 dollars. Franchise opportunities tend to run more and direct sales or network marketing seem to cost a bit less.
Advice for Finding the Right Business
I'd set a goal of finding a good business to start. Plan on spending a month or so evaluating business opportunities. Narrow your options down to a few and then make a decision. Most profitable business opportunities will have a mix of you using skills you already possess and having to learn a few new ones.
Do you have any experience starting a business? Would you care to share with our visitors and readers?
Make 2009 a great year and as you look forward to 2010 make a decision to start the business you've been thinking about.

Best Business to Start Online: Profitable Ideas for Business Start Ups
When it comes to the best business to start, I'm always thinking home based business opportunities. Really business opportunities that use the Internet are what I think about when I think of the top business ideas to start. I'm a little bias and I understand that business opportunities develop and appear in many shapes and sizes. Local communities are constantly presenting new and varying opportunities to make money with existing business and new business start-ups. I'd add the one thing that the Internet does is enlarge the idea of community and literally allows a simple business to engage in commerce around the globe.
Profitable Business Opportunities
Profitable business opportunities have one thing in common, they add value. Adding value in a traditional brick and mortar business is easily understood. Having a product that customers buy or a service that clients pay for is a common way to add value in a traditional business model and is the way most businesses earn money. While many online business opportunities also have products and services, it can get a bit fuzzy when new online business entrepreneurs try to add value or increase the value they add.
The Internet provides a unique platform to either add value to your visitors or customers or add value to someone Else's by creating affiliate relationships or selling ad space. Information is multi-faceted product that provides unique and profitable business opportunities. It seems much of the fortune that is being made right now is in the logistics area of information. How information gets from point A to point B is hot and many of the larger companies have created and capitalised on this opportunity and continue to do so. But what about the information you have?
How do you make money with your own information? Is it something people would buy? I think so....
I'm of the opinion that everyone has information based on experience or specialty that would save someone else a significant amount of time or money, perhaps it would make their live a bit easier. The bottom line is that this significance is what gives the information its power as a product. What do you know that is unique and in demand? Is this information pointing you to the best business to start online?
Lets say you were a Special Education teacher and you had observed, learned and realized certain things about adolescent behavior and you could help parents further their child's development. Parents would be interested in this I think and creating an information product is really pretty simple. By tapping into an entrepreneurial spirit and learning the things you need to learn to make the business opportunity work you could earn and extra 20k to 30k per year if you market a well put together product to people who really want to buy it.
That's one business opportunity for teachers, imagine all the various professions and industries that have flat spots and fail to serve the customer base as well as it could....
These are all business opportunity, opportunity to earn money. I like to think of business as a way to bless someone and get paid for it...
Creating an information product once that dozens of people can purchase over time, that cost nothing to reproduce is a great start to profitable business opportunity. Its a great low cost start up is simple to do.
Online Business Opportunities
Online business opportunities are better understood when looked at from a place of simplicity. All online business opportunities will require you to but you idea, product or service in front of your target market. Online we do this with a website, like this one.
One of the first steps to earning money online is to create a website and begin exposing that website to others. Traffic is the word commonly used for website visitors. There are dozens of ways to get traffic to your website. You can buy advertising online, which can be expensive, you could even hire someone to do that for you. Getting traffic from natural search or from search engines is another popular way to get traffic you your new small business website.
Once you have a website that is getting traffic its all about testing and figuring out who is most interested in your offering and finding creative ways to invite them to your site and participate in what it is your offering. I saw a huge explosion of coaching businesses online and figure its a good business opportunity. Consulting business opportunities are a great business to form into an online business. One of the things about online tools and the Internet in general is the opportunity for automation.
I appreciate your comments about this post. Any questions are appreciated as well.

Money Making Business Opportunities Online
Opportunities to make money online, or "Internet Business Opportunities" are probably one of the best ways to make money for students and baby boomers alike. That said I think there are a few drawbacks as well. Draw backs to making money online, at least the ones I'm thinking of, aren't really draw backs in and of themselves, they just seem to get in the way of people actually making money online. Starting a home based business is an exciting idea, but starting a business online is becoming just about as successful, or NOT, as a traditional business, why?
Can Anyone Earn Money Online?
I think the answer to this question comes brings us to the draw backs of using the Internet to create a steady income. Here are the top three on my list:
- Lack of a clear purpose or feeling purposeful.
- Lack of human interaction and community.
- Lack of a vision and adding real meaning.
These are simple barriers to make money online opportunities, but they are powerful and tend to stifle most people....
It doesn't have to be this way, if the Internet can be used by some people to earn a substantial income then its a viable opportunity to make money, right? Are web business ideas a viable way to become successful today? What does it take? Can you capitalize on money making business opportunities online?
What skills does it take to make money online?
I don't think make money online opportunities are skill base, I don't think most of the best self employment ideas are skill based either. While performing a skill is part of rendering quality service, its not the most important thing to earning money as a self employed entrepreneur. There are common characteristics of people who make money online, the same characteristics can be found, I think, in just about any successful business owner. The top traits of a successful entrepreneur are:
- Persistence
- Consistency
- Determination
Three words with three meaning. Probably the most powerful three characteristics of any worthwhile achievement are rooted in the these three traits, think about it. I think choosing the best business to invest in takes a back seat to possessing these traits and I've seen story after story and have some experience myself to back it up. Not sure if you'll find this advice on the SBA website but, there are millions of ways to make money online and off, its not all about the way you make money its more in how you go about doing it, how your being. The top business media tells an obscure story of complexity and precision that just isn't all that apparent in most successful business endeavors, in my opinion, or course.
If you find yourself asking the question: " Whats the best business opportunity to start ", its likely the answer is going to be close to, " The one that causes you to be persistent, consistent and determined to succeed", I think that is the point in a nut shell. Its not about choosing the best business entity, its more about a inspiring idea that will captivate your entrepreneurial spirit over the long term and excite you in the short term from time to time.
I'd say the best business to start, the top small business ideas, the top online business, and the top opportunity to invest in are all the same, and its a question that's been answered accurately with what been written in this blog post. What are your ideas? Do you think relevancy plays a bigger role than I'm letting on? Do you think finding an already thriving market and working to obtain a piece of that market is a more intelligent approach. I'm of the opinion that many of the people that advise on business and entrepreneurship are missing the boat. Looking to corporate executives who use other peoples money and have almost unlimited resource and legacy holdings might not be the smartest, or best pool of knowledge if your looking to create a better life as an entrepreneur. Just a thought.

Home Based Business Opportunities & Earning 100k plus From Home.
Why not? 'Cause you won't do the things neccesary to turn the opportunity into reality. Opportunity is "a chance", a shot if you will. You don't have to be a big shot to make money with a home business opportunity, you just have to keep shooting.
The results you create with an online business opportunity will be earned. It's not easy and that is where the real value comes in. Cost of entry is zero, anybody can do it, and many will try. But most won't last 90 days, and those left will be another 90% fewer after six months. An "I'm gonna get rich online" moment has started millions of blogs. Desire to earn money, create free time, more freedom, or a little fun are great, but if your going to make a go of it, you'll need to add to that mix.
Here me out....
Successful people know what they want, they have a plan to get there and they just don't quit till its done. They don't try to make $1,000 a month with adsense.... They set a stretch goal to be earning $1,400 a month with google adsense within one year. They believe its possible... they see what the goal will mean, specifically, in their life. They imagine it being real today just to sit in the feeling of accomplishing the goal. Then they open their eyes and go to work.
My friend you can create a great income online. If you like people and working with others, you'll find an opportunity... If you like passive income, there's that too. If you want to create a long term asset, online based business ideas will comply... If you want to develop formulas for creating money at will in any niche, it is here for you. That's whats great about creativity, being intentional, and knowing what the hell you want.
Most people, intelligent, educated, top notch people, work there asses off and never get where they most want to be, simply because they don't know they want to be there! You don't have to be one of them, not now...
Everthing you need to know, have, or master, is available if your committed to the process of acquiring it. Work long enough to make quitting look as dumb as it always was. Enjoy your life, appreciate it and be grateful now. AND refuse to accept anything less than what you most desire. Do them both, thats success. Genius is the ability to hold two opposing views at the same time without going insane.... (unknown)
No matter what your goals are for 2009... Whether its creating a business online, learning how to build a website, or making more free time for your family....
You can get there from here, actually its the only road, so you can't get lost if you keep clear on where you want to go. Think of the end only, and the decisions, inspiration, motivation, and intuition will be there.
Do things smart, learn from others and weave passive into your creations. I make money when I sleep, shower, sail, ride horses,eat..... etc. I like that, and want to do that, I did it on purpose, so can you.
If you require assistance with finding a business opportunity or marketing the one you already have, I'd be happy to help you, I've recieved help from many top shelf people. Some of them don't even know me or know they helped me, I think that is cool... and am always here to help a person who is serious about creating their own life by design.
There will be new business opportunities in 2009 and millions of new online entrepreneurs...
Find a way to add value, thats what the best business opportunities do. Not only do viable business opportunities add value to the market place via their products and services, they also add value to the entrepreneurs who work hard for their success.
Make this Year Great....
Be loyal to your dreams.
Loyal Like A Dog.
